Hannah started Totally Mental in 2016 after dealing with depression and anxiety for years without knowing mental health was even a thing & that she wasn’t just a special kind of messed up all her own. Once she learned that everyone has mental health, she began Totally Mental to start the candid conversation about the messy feelings we all go through but no one talks about. Five years later, she’s only gotten chattier and more open about her own mental health & the struggles of others. Beyond mental health advocacy, Hannah loves Parks & Rec, Half Baked Harvest chicken shawarma recipe, her dog Nala, McDonald’s Coke & tequila sodas with extra salt on the rim. Emily started therapy when she was 14 after confronting an eating disorder, low self-esteem, and her parents’ divorce. Since then, therapy and mental health have been arenas she’s actively engaged with through all of life’s moments from breakups, career changes, understanding family dynamics & living with anxiety in general. She has an intense fervor for life & believes it’s best lived in relationship to others. She’s obsessed with her family & her “people,” her dog Levi, any adrenaline rush, a long run (most of the time), a good martini, and anything bubbly - personality, water, wine, she’s here for it all.
